Welcome to the Family of God

If you surrendered your life to Christ and prayed to be forgiven, let us be the first to say
WELCOME
to the Family of God!

Study God’s Word
Now that you've made this decision, you're probably wondering what's next. Well, first, get into the word of God. And, yes, that means reading the Bible. Romans 15:4 and Hebrews 4:12 tell us about the powerful effects of the Word of God. This book and the life that it gives will transform you.

But don't get overwhelmed if you have a hard time understanding what is says. It's not as confusing as it seems at first. Pray for understanding and you’ll be amazed at how much faster it comes. Also, know that God only reveals to you what you can comprehend and need to know at the time, so don't worry if you don't seem to be getting a lot at first. You'll get there! Just give it time.

Get Connected!
Next, there are no "lone rangers" in Christianity. Christians need each other - we are all on the same journey. God designed you to be part of something larger than yourself (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). You need to be connected to the Body of Christ, so find a good Bible based church for teaching and fellowship.

Talk To God
It's also important that you welcome the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that he would send a Helper (John 14:16-17) who would live in you (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Holy Spirit guides and enables you to fulfill God's purposes (Philippians 4:13) and accomplish His will (Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16-25). He strengthens your relationship with Jesus (John 16:7-15).

And don't forget, PRAY! This is not a difficult thing. God is your Father. Talk to Him like he is. Act like He’s right there with you, because He is. Isn't that great?! Come to Him in Jesus' name and He will listen. And there is no such thing as too much prayer. Plus, you can do it anywhere, so please make the time. It’s worth it! How do you think your earthly father would feel if you hardly ever talked to him? God's the same way. He wants to hear from you.

Surround yourself with Christians
Lastly, we cannot stress enough how important it is to surround yourself with fellow Christians. Life can be difficult, and we need that fellowship and support. Please contact our church – Chi United – if you need support, prayer, or just someone to talk to.

May you be blessed in Christ.
